got them as dual boot here, have done for the last few months, they haven't done anything of the sort. OK if you're in XP and select the Vista partition in disk manager and format it then yes the user is capable of destroying the other OS. But how is Windows itself capable of destroying it on its own?

several of my favourite programs which work well under WinXP will not work properly under Vista. My conclusion is that dual booting must be the answer, but how? I have 4 SATA internal disk drives, one with a WinXP boot partition, one with a Vista boot partition and the other two for data, backups etc.
